Testing at Veidec Raceway, Malmö

Race reportsPosted by Ulf Stadig 28 Aug, 2010 15:10

This weekend we are attending the test and tune weekend here at Veidec Raceway in Malmö. On the short travel in to Malmö there was some small sprinkles but when we arrived at the track it was all fine.

We made some changes to the car and went out for the first round. It looked like the changes was in the right directions but the car once again dropped the front wheel down and started to shake.

We then made our tuning and went up to the line for the second hit and of course it started to rain, we towed back to the pits and now it is sunshine again so we hope that the track will dry fast so that we will get another run today.

It's not the best place to watch our photos on this site so if you go direct to the pictures site it's a little bit better.

Fastest Car at the Street Finals Reunion 2010.

Race reportsPosted by Ulf Stadig 14 Aug, 2010 18:47

This weekend at Veidec Raceway in Malmö there has been the 2010 Power Street Finals Reunion. Yesterday evening was a real nice warm one and the track was as good as it should be.

We put up the car pretty much the same as in our 6.36 run at Mantorp Park with some changes to the fuel system and it reacted good. Håkan made a good job on the run as he made a quick pedal job and still recorded the fastest time for the event with a 4.15 / 279Km/h.

After the run some stuff had gone bad and the guys made good work to get it fixed, thanks to Martin L, Ola M, L-B and the teams from Paddan Jönsson and Brag brothers we managed to get in a last run for the night. To that run we just made some minor adjutments and it didn't help as the car shooked and Håkan lifted and coasted down the track. The nice thing was that no one improved and took us down from the top spot. Paddan Jönsson ran a 4.18 and Lars Olsson a 4.25.

When we got up this saturday morning it was raining and it pretty much never stoped and the event was called off at afternoon making us the winners of the event. Not so nice but to be on the top spot is allways nice...
We got some nice trophys to put up with all the old ones.

Out in the first round at Veidec Festival.

Race reportsPosted by Ulf Stadig 07 Aug, 2010 11:43

During the afternoon at the Veidec Festival it stopped to rain, the sky wasn't the most beautiful and the track had been wet most of the day. We were up against Fast Freddy Fagerstöm who qualified with a high 6.2 run.
From the beginning we were set for a good run I guess but as we came closer to run we made some bad tuning decisions and calmed the 57 down. Sitting in the next last pair I saw the other guys do good runs but didn't have the faith to give it some more. We lost our run against Freddy as he drove a high 6.2 again and we came down on a 6.50. Lesson leard I hope!

It's allways bad to lose but as we are pretty new in to the blown world we are learning what and what not to do.

After our run there was just one round of TF going down the track and then it really started to rain, Håkan was really wet getting back to the pits as it was just raining like hell. The event was cancelled after that. And we loaded and went home.
I brought our US mechanic Andrew Maye with me back home to Falun and we have had a couple of good days hangin out toghter visiting the Classic Car week in Rättvik and doing sightsing around Falun.

Big thanks for your help Andrew!!

We are now looking forward to go down to Malmö again next weekend and try to get after some more succesful runs again...
